Downtown Detroit’s Midway features miniature golf and street art

For the second year in a row, downtown Detroit is open to the public for all kinds of fun for the whole family.

It’s known as Monroe Street Midway and it’s a huge outdoor space that offers miniature golf, basketball and even roller skating.

When was the last time you dusted off your roller skates to do a little roller skate jam session?

Roller skating is so much fun, as is playing a few rounds of miniature golf. And if you’re looking for something a little more challenging, why not take in a basketball game or two?

There’s an organization called “Come Play Detroit”, and they also play basketball in the heart of downtown Detroit.

According to mlive.com:

“It’s an amazing way to use this space and make it accessible to the public with free access to play basketball, putt-putt. There will be music in the parks and shows all summer long,” said Justin Jacobs, Founder of Come Play Detroit, “There aren’t many cities that have something like this in the heart of downtown. Thanks to Bedrock and Rocket Mortgage, we’re so lucky to have this.”

It’s all about summer fun and downtown Detroit is full of it. Speaking of fun, the outdoor rink includes skate rentals and costs around $12 per session.

By the way, if you just want to relax and walk around, you can experience plenty of street art in downtown Detroit.
