Plainfield Fest kicks off Friday – Shaw Local

1) Plainfield Party will take place from Friday to Sunday in downtown Plainfield. The event will feature food trucks and live music for all three days. Saturday will also include a display of craft and bargain vendors, a balloon artist, pony rides, a petting zoo and a face artist. Sunday attractions include an ice cream race and the Midwest Bags tournament, a custom and classic car show, and bingo. For information, visit theplainfieldfest.com.

2) Meet 19 members of the Romeoville Art Society from 5 to 8 p.m. on Fridays at the Art à la Cache of the Musée de l’Isle à la Cache, 501 E. Romeo Road, Romeoville. The artists produced a total of 57 pieces for the exhibition, including pottery, sculpture and poetry. Also check out the company’s traveling miniature art gallery, an interactive showcase that encourages people of all ages to create art. 3) silver strings will perform from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday as part of the 2022 Concerts in The Park series. This free concert will take place at Preservation Park at 710 Taylor St. Joliet. Picnic basket and garden chairs welcome. For information, visit Concerts at the Parc 2022 on Facebook.

4) fiesta will perform at 7 p.m. Friday at the Joliet American Legion Outdoor Patio Show. Participants are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Food and drinks are available. 5) Families are invited to come Commons Game Day 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the New Lenox Commons. This free event includes inflatables, face painting, balloon artists, character tours, a magic show and science experiments. The Young Entrepreneurs Fair will feature a variety of products for sale.
