Diorama on display at SCMMS 2019

The 29th Annual South Carolina Military Miniature Society (SCMMS) Show will be held Saturday, August 8 at the SC State Museum, 301 Gervais Street. The SCMMS show features exhibits of toy soldiers and model figures, vignettes and dioramas created by club members. This is a show and sale with local and nationally known vendors selling toy soldiers and civilian figures, vehicles, model buildings, action figures and other toys of collection. Doors open to the public at 10 a.m. and admission is free.

The purpose of the South Carolina Military Miniature Society is to promote, present, and develop the hobby of toy soldiers and miniature figures through mentorship, shows, exhibits, dioramas, and fellowship. Despite its name, SCMMS focuses on more than military matters. The collections contain farms, villages, Victorian parks and zoos.

The South Carolina Military Miniature Society has branches in Columbia and Charleston and meets monthly at members’ homes. Anyone interested in joining SCMMS can stop by the information table at the entrance to the show for details and contact details. In the lounge, the members will be happy to discuss with you the hobby as well as the activities of the club.
