Morena (Madhya Pradesh): A 28-year-old from the district, Satpal Singh Rohtak made a miniature of union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia’s house ‘Jai Vilas Palace’ and he wanted to gift the drawing to the minister.
Satpal said he has a hobby of constructing miniature drawings of historical landmarks from wooden signboards. He also made the Taj Mahal miniature before.
According to Satpal, there is no other Jai Vilas palace in the state and no artist or designer has built its design so far. Therefore, he decided to build Scindia Palace.
A year ago, he started building the design during the COVID-enforced lockdown. He built it in a year and he worked about seven hours regularly to construct the building. He built the palace in a dimension of about 9×9 feet, Satpal said.
Satpal included every little detail of Jai Vilas Palace in his miniature like gardens inside and outside the palace, trees, plants and colorful lighting.
Satpal said his dream was to become an engineer and wanted to build great buildings for the nation. But even after working hard, he couldn’t get admission to a good engineering school. He could not be admitted on the basis of a donation because his financial situation was not good. As a result, he dropped out of school seven years ago and started helping his father’s work, who is a tailor. He spent his income designing historic buildings, Satpal added.
